The new spicy noodle variety is inspired by the signature knife-cut noodles found in the northern Chinese province of Shanxi. These noodles feature distinctive ruffled edges and a silky texture that makes them perfect for pairing with rich sauces and broths. Trader Joe's own Spicy Squiggly Knife Cut Noodles are paired with a packet of spicy soy garlic sauce and sesame paste, which comes alongside the pre-portioned noodles. To prepare your meal at home, all you have to do is cook the noodles in boiling water, drain, and then stir in your desired portion of sauce. You can also add in your toppings of choice, like a jammy egg or some hearty veggies.
